Once the base (3 ft. x 8 ft.) was laid out, the projection screen was constructed. All items will be removable to allow for relocation. All items are handmade and most are made of foam board.

This project will include a working projection system as you can see on the screen. The box in the foreground is the snack bar and projection room.
The sound will be provided by 2 speakers, which are molded into 2 handcrafted rocks. You will find them among the trees on each end of the base. See the next image.
Whitewashed brick pattern was used for the appearance of the building walls. Then the roofs were painted black. The rocks were also painted for realism. Doors and windows will be added at this point.
Next step was to lay down some green turf and trim out a road pattern. 1:25 scale cars were used for measurements.
The wood supports and legs for screen where stained to bring out the wood grain.
Speaker and speaker posts were created and put in place. Trees and shrubs have been handmade and started at the screen end of the diorama.
Roads are now being painted to resemble dirt roads.
The drive-in theater sign was constructed and put in place.
The road is now complete.
The sign is fully lettered.
More trees have been added.
